I guess the only reason to do it would be if you came across an already built, high HP motor, and it would cost more to build your 930 engine to the same spec?
In my case my engine was blown, and i'd already thrown a fortune at it. I wanted twin turbo's, great EFI control, and plenty of easy tuning options... A 993 turbo engine fitted the bill, it was a mission to fit though, even fitting anything other than a 993 turbo box to it poses problems... It was worth it though!
A 964 chassis is much easier to work with!

In a perfect world you'd buy a spare 930 engine, have it built to whatever spec you want, whilst still having your car to go and enjoy. Then fit your newly built monster motor when it's ready
