Just got in from checking all the electrical plugs I could find and found this. I'm guessing this is the voltage regulator from the alternator? (it's mounted next to the CDI unit at the left rear). The plug underneath it was covered in what looked like a sticky tar substance which on further inspection turned out to be the inside of this unit which seems to have melted an run out the bottom of it. Could this be a) the reason I have no power to the coil or b) a sign of another problem which would leave me with no power to the coil. Either way I'm sure it's going to need replacing. Any advice or knowledge on this would be great as I just hate it when my car's not going. Thanks - Konrad.
