Based on the inside of the bellhousing this specific unit appears to be from an 86+ year model. Perhaps you can look at the date casting just above the shift rod.

Regardless, you definitely have the 78+ design which is commonly called a "long bellhousing". The 76,77 design called a "short bellhousing" is missing the first inch of material from the face of the bellhousing up to the first casting rib.
