I've been going through a similar situation while developing an intercooler. The up-pipe wants to remove itself from the turbo. I'm now in the habit of tossing all the tools I am using at the time into a bag and throwing them on the floorboard before I take off to ride.
Every time though is such a reward; this thing flies! Roasting the tires in second gear makes me laugh out loud, ha! Yesterday the o-rings stayed put. That problem is solved. Now on the the next potential issue yet to be seen that you wouldn't think would be a problem ...
