You can lower the back of the motor down about 6" onto a jackstand and do it very easily while in the car.
If you like removing the motor and transaxle and have a place to put it then do that.

Remove the muffler and rear motormount crossbar, then the chain case cover.
After removing all the rocker arms and the chain sprocket and cam thrustplate and shims the cam will slide right out
