What would the Pelicans do?

Guys- I was thinking about taking on a project of a tribute to my favorite Porsche of all time- White 1974 RSR 3.0 - like Monte Shelton currently has for sale on E Bay-I realize that a proper donor car should be a '74 or '75 non sunroof coupe which I have located- it is a 2.7 that has steel 930 flares, boxed rockers & 18 " wheels which for the most part would not be used since I want the vented fenders, etc- while this sounds like a possible fit my dilemma is that for about $12,000 more I have found an '89 M491 but it is a Cabriolet so the question becomes do I stay true to the tribute or do I make the car that was never made?

Pros: 3.2 liter- 15 years newer- clean title- suspension & brakes- G50 trans & A/C
Cons: It's a Cabriolet

What say you?
