turbo nut,
That is the exact same size tire I have in the rear. If you're primarily going street, here's some info to help you base your decisions.

Tire: 275/40 x 17(overall dia. 25.7")
Engine: see my signature. Approx. 400-430BHP
R&P: 8:41
Factory gear spacing ratios 1st thru 4th.

1st gear: A get you rolling gear, no feathering the clutch to launch, flooring it in 1st from rolling start, engine redlines so quickly boost never builds.

2nd gear: good gear for around at 25MPH, at 35 MPH, engine gets a little busy.

3rd gear: good gear for around town at speeds greater than 40MPH

4th gear: road gear, cruising at 70MPH nets you about 3200RPM. Boost is always there at 70MPH (about .2BAR). Flooring it at 70MPH, the rush is instantaneous since turbo is already "on the boil".

What's frustrating is in the 30-35MPH range. 2nd gear the engine is a little buzzy and 3rd gear is approaching the lugging area. (around 2000RPM).

Hope this helps narrow your choices.
