Rear Wheel Stud Removal?

Because I'm going with the wider tires [345/35-15], I've determined that I need to go with a little less wheel spacer on the rears.

Going from 25mm to about 10mm spacer. As a result, my wheel studs will be a little too long to fit inside the BBS screw-on cap.

So, I need to take 15mm off the length of the studs. So, they'll go from 70mm to 55mm.

Has anyone removed these before? I'm thinking if I get all of the E-brake stuff out of there it'll come out the back?? Any practical experience with this out there in P-ville?

And, thoughts on shortening the studs??

Thanks, Shannon
