Pat Williams does the same as Bob, but that is for a high output race engine that spends most of its time on boost while on the track.

To optimize spool-up with a twin-scroll turbo in a street application you want each bank to be separate all the way to the turbo so there is no overlap of the exhaust pulses. In other words, you don't want the exhaust pressure and pulse from one cylinder diluting the pressure and pulse of the next cylinder in the firing order. There's plenty of street examples that show twin-scrolls with a wastegate for each side of the scroll.

The only reason I say this, is I'm working on a twin scroll system with a GT4088R, and I've done a lot of research on twin-scrolls. I'll be using twin 38mm Tial WG's.
