If you mean the oil line from the case scavange pump to the external thermostat you have to replace that because it won't fit when putting on an aftermarket short tube header system.

Best way is to backdate that line to the OEM 2 piece early 911 version that was gold cad plated steel tubing and a section of rubber hose on the second line to deal with engine vibration that went along under the clutch bell housing and then to the thermostat.

The less expensive way is to replace it with a one piece stainless steel braided line from the case to the thermostat.
