Great read, my dad had a 60 Corvette when I was 16 and of course I grew up lusting for vetts. I owned probably 10-15 had 55, 57, 60 I put an L88 in, 63 Split Window, 66,67, 69 big blocks. At the time the only Porsche's I knew of were at Mid Ohio race track.

One weekend I took my 63 to a parking lot race and got my ass kicked by a 72 911 Targa and at the time I thought there must be something too those ugly little cars, I sold my 63 and bought my first 911. It was a 72 Targa with a ******** built RSR 2.8 motor, fun car. I bought and sold Porsche's for a few years saving to get a 930 after I saw my first one in 76. I'd buy them clean them up and turn them. I finally bought the "Old Sled" 22 years ago and have never looked back.

I understand that need to look around , but my money is on you eventually coming back to the fold. Everyone around here comes to me if they are looking at a Porsche and I think I've driven them all by now but have never been tempted to change. That "Old Sled" and I just wouldn't make it without each other. I told my wife when I croak to put my ashes in the front seat and take me for rides.

Let me know what you get, that 2.8 with Weber's is a great motor.
