You don't have many options on going "softer". You can run a puck racing clutch and that will get heavier. You do probably have a 996 clutch in there, *or* someone may have put in a higher performance package along the way. I would try the stock 996 setup (it should work with that engine and tranny combo) and see if that improves your ride.
