I'll share a secret with you on how I check for CSV malfunction; remove the fuel line where it exits the fuel head and replace the hollow bolt with a regular bolt. Tighten back up and see how she starts/runs with no fuel getting to the injector.

The other thing that can cause pressure loss are leaky injectors. Does your engine diesel on shut down or hard start on occasion? Leaky injectors.
