break in for track engine

Not sure where to post this (track forum?) but most track cars are NA.
Not sure how you break in a 930 track machine. Normally you would run up a few hundred road miles, then retorque heads, and do valves etc.
What to do with track engine - run for track day flat out, hope no head leaks etc then retorque?
