If no significant change in pedal pressure or height, I would comment that the 'S' calipers are know to flex due their aluminum construction. You could always replace with a set of Carrera (84 -89) steel calipers which are the same size but have less tendency to flex.

If I remember correctly the pedal gets harder, but the actual braking is noticably decreased after two or more pumps.
