3LDZ vs. K-27

I have seen many adds for rebuilding the stock 3LDZ Turbo with a high flow capacity. How does this compare to the K-27s? I am looking to reduce turbo lag and improve the acceleration vice the top speed. I am thinking that the headers/exhaust are first, large Intercooler and then the turbo.

It would appear that rebuilding my 3LDZ with the high flow parts goes for around $600 where the K-27's start at $1400 and go up from there.

It would appear that the headers/exhaust upgrades show between 45hp to 55hp improvement over stock. The KOKELN Intercooler folks say that it reduces the rpm where boost comes on about 1000rpm sooner than stock. So with all of that, it appears that the boost is comming on at around 2200 RPM or so. So is the extra $1000 for the K-27 over the rebuilt stock turbo really do much for you.


I would love to hear from the forum about their set ups and what they like/ don't like.
