Hi. I'm runnimg Zeitronix software on Ubuntu under Wine with various luck. The software works, but is a little unstable.

To read the input from the Zeitronix unit, you need to redirect the wine com1 serial (and virtual) port to a physical port on your Ubunto unit. Typically this is /dev/ttyUSB0

Go to the .wine/dosdevices directory in your home area, and type

ln /dev/ttyUSB0 com1

This will make a link from com1 virtual serial port to the physical port of ttyUSB0
I'm assuming you are using a serial-to-USB adapter.

Its been a while since I did this, so this is by memory. Search ubuntu forums for further help. This is nothing special for Zeitronix, but is a issue issue with programs running under wine needing a serial port
