JBL930 - RON and MON averaged together is what we use. Typically the best we get around here is 93 at the pump, racing fuel is available at extreme cost ($9+ per gallon). What I love about E85 and what makes it hard to compare it's detonation resistance to gasoline is it's cooling effect on the chamber. I know of a few 2.0L 4 cylinder engines making 1000hp at the wheels on E85 running boost pressures around 50psi. They compare it to C16 except they say it makes more power than C16. The most difficult part of running E85 at that power level is getting enough of it. I think on an air cooled engine E85's effects may be greater than water cooled engines.
