Check the rear toe before you do anything else. All you need are 4 jackstands and two 20 ft. lengths of string or fishing line.
I had the same issue when I bought my 964; when the boost came on it felt like the front wheels weren't touching the pavement. A quick check of the rear toe revealed that the left side was + 30 minutes and the right side was set at 0 (spec is +15 minutes per side). Essentially, under acceleration the rear of the car was steering right, causing the instability. Fixing the toe cleared up the problem.
