Drain some out of the engine sump drain plug if you have one. Otherwise, you'll have to drain it out of the oil tank. That can be messy and it's difficult to control the flow but it can be done.

if it's new oil try to get it into a clean container so you can put some back if you drain too much. If its dirty oil, be careful and only drain a little at a time.

2 quarts out should be sufficient.
