brake induced wheel wobble

I need some help diagnosing a problem.

When I lightly initiate braking at 60 mph or so, the steering wheel wobbles pretty excitedly. As I apply a little more pressure on the brake pedal, the wobbling goes away completely. Additionally, it doesn't do it every time, probably only every other time. When crusing down the road at any speed, there is no wobble, no indication of unbalance, only when braking.

Any ideas?
