Craigslist can be a good source. You may want to use one of the mashups like SearchTempest so you can search a bunch of cities at once. The only thing is the distance tool doesn't work very well. You enter your zip and 500 miles and you will get hits from seattle or LA. Another place is fleaBay. I'm not recommending bidding, but most cars are sold with Reserve and don't sell, so you can contact the seller after the auction. There is a white '85 targa on there now with 42k miles. I assume you checked AutoTrader too. The last thing I would do is to call a few of the independent Porsche repair shops to see if they know of any. Some people will sell their car even if they aren't actively in a selling process, the shops sometimes are aware of these folks.

My other recommendation is to start driving them or riding in them. .
