Sorry for derailing this thread, I'll move my rant elsewhere.
Again, the nastygram I received was from the FEDERAL government NOT the state.
Yes my car was flagged when I registered in AL because it is an '85 Euro. Don't know if the Feds put that flag into place or the state.
The feds are demanding the 27 year old paperwork which no longer exists. Texas (where the car was registered for the last 26 years) can't find it, or don't care to find it, and the PO misplaced it years ago.
The original poster for this thread most likely won't have these issues as the paperwork will be generated as part of the process to get the car here. Mine's been here all it's life and the paperwork has been lost.
