I used a MSD 6AL in my previous 930. If I should choose now I would select 6AL-2 because of the ignition control. You also need to upgrade the coil. I strongly advise to to use 8222 which is epoxy filled over 8202 which is oil filled. I had 8202 first, but had a oil leak and after some time it failed.
You can easily connect it to the 6 pin plug that comes from the engine harness.
This is how I connected the signal wires. Not in this picture is the main red and black wires that was connected to batt

Also run the epoxy blaster coil No. 8222 with 6AL-2. Just peel that fugly sticker of and you have a factorylook race coil.
