Has anyone gone though the process of connecting the M505 / M506 option codes to the VIN numbers of the cars that where originally built by the factory with those options? Did you know that it can be done using the Factory Porsche PET Software? It will take a fair amount of patience because you have to check every 930 VIN number one at a time to see if it has the M505 or M506 option code. In the case of the North American cars, that would mean checking 639 VINs just for the '89 930 Coupes. We went though this process with the M491 / M470 optioned Turbo Look cars in 2010. Of the 2619 Carrera Coupes produced by Porsche for North America in 1986, 76 of them were M491 Turbo Looks.
This process would be a good way to see if the numbers in this memo are correct and to find all of the VIN numbers with the M505 / M506 option codes at the same time.
That's great work .. however, this will only cover the later cars with the 505/506 option and not the Special Wishes cars. Just say'n & applaud the effort.
