Well !!!! Yesterday was a day I considered a major milestone in
this ongoing saga,,, nightmare,,, love affair. The IC is on and the
induction system is done !!!!

When one gets one of these off the wall brain fart ideas of doing
something outside of the box one has no idea of how difficult and
maddening it can sometimes be.

Late last nite or this morning, whichever it was, I was finishing the
installation and ordering the last two T Bolt clamps I need to replace
the original factory hose clamps. I started taking the attached pics.
and I was reflecting on what made me start this madness in the first
place. As a person who likes to think I do these weird ass projects
with purely practical intent.

The first pic. below is where all this started. I looked at this pic.
and noted the rediciously long intake track it took to get the
air/ fuel mixture to the turbo inlet. I thought if every time I let off the
gas I have to recharge all that tubing and the volume in the IC
again before I see any boost. Also doesn't closing the throttle plate
create back pressure on the turbo decreasing it's speed? Doesn't all
this create lag ? With that in mind I calculated the cu/in volume of
the stock intake tract and what might be reduced by relocating the
CIS and shortening the intake tract. With the change I made the
volume is now 1/20 th of what the factory set up is.

964 CIS Motor Intake track the early intercooled cars were even longer.

Some pics of the IC installed and new rerouting of intake track

Does this really make any difference ???? Who knows but it keeps
me out of the bars !!!!!!
