Hi Guys,

Just managed to find this post by accident and thought I should comment as the owner of JMG Porsche in the UK.

The speaker adapter kits are available at the moment for 3 different speakers, which are...

Alpine Europe SPG-10C2 (Available throughout Europe in almost any car audio shop)
Alpine Inc. USA SPS-410 (Available throughout the USA and Australia)
JLAudio C2-400X (Available in Europe and possibly elsewhere)

Originally the kit was designed for the SPG-10C2 Speakers available in the UK, but our USA customers had problems sourcing these, so we imported the American version (SPS-410) which has now been available for about a year.

For anyone wanting to buy these kits for the USA or Australian market, I can confirm the speakers you need to order are these, from Alpine USA or a local stockist...

Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.

And our speaker adapter kit to install these specific speakers are here...

Porsche Boxster 996 Dashboard and rear speaker adapter kit For USA Alpine

These speakers, and the adapter kits fit the dashboard in the pre 2005 Boxster (986) and the dashboard and rear of the pre 2005 996 models.

In our online shop we also stock a different set of adapters for the european Alpine SPG-10C2 and another set for the JLAudio C2-400x speakers available throughout Europe.

We are also interested in developing this kit for the Polk and MBQuart speakers in the future if there is interest.

Much of the cost of this kit by the original poster was shipping costs to the USA, which if anyone wants to arrange a group buy, would reduce the cost massively.

Alternatively, if Pelican are interested in stocking the kits, we would be happy to have them distribute them in the USA for us.

For those worried about what it is like to install the kit, it is really easy, if you can undo 3 screws, unplug a multi connector, remove the old speaker, insert the new one, clip a wiring adapter into place and insert 3 screws again, then you will be able to do the job in under 30 mins, in your lunch break in your work car park, with only one screw driver and a torx key (that we also sell on our website) and without breaking a sweat.

Maybe we should upload a video to youtube showing the process.
