I think it's the Toyota sealent a mechanic friend uses on water cooled engine oil pans sometimes. It's very good sticky stuff similar to silicone gasket maker/sealer, grey in color, and he buy's it in the big cylindrical tubes that fit into a cauking gun.

I hope your job above works for you. At least you won't be able to see it when the pulley is back on.
