Tate, sounds like a cool project.
The ABS on the 964 is the first generation type, so you can feel when it is intervening.
In 6 years with my 964 Turbo, the ABS has never kicked in to rescue me so for me it's like it not even there.
Some of the track-orientated owners over on Rennlist have just removed the hydraulic pump and re-plumed the caliper lines to run directly from the master cylinder.
If you do a search on Rennlist there are about 10 threads on this subject.
