Few pics from the Targa

Was lucky enough to attend, after having the 930 apart for the last three years roughly.

All was looking good, after 1 all nighter the Tuesday before the event, Wednesday morning things were looking good after replacing all of the fuel lines and cleaning the tank over the last year, original pumps had been cleaned up and reinstalled. Full Pedal rebuild and linkage along with full shifter and linkage rebuild, all put back in over Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. About 10.30 Wednesday morning pulled the fuel pump relays, primed the engine with oil, good oil pressure as expected. Crossed the 87 and 30 terminals on the primary and secondary fuel pump relays to prime the pumps and bring up fuel pressure. Pumps sound a little loud, and ah yesss the front one is spraying fuel out of the can where it is crimped to the die cast end. Rear pumps is dripping out one of the electrical terminals... lovely. Look up pumps on Pelican, front and rear around 650 bucks, ouch. Call up Walter's Porsche in Riverside, Front pump $350 and you can get it this afternoon, year pump $750, we can get it Monday after the Targa, hmmm. Nein Danke. Call up Pelican, we can pick up the pumps at Will Call Thursday early AM. Jeez, this is looking bleek, if anything else goes wrong.

Pick up College buddy flying in from Detroit, at Ontario Airport at 4.30 PM on Wednesday. Said, we got good news and bad news. What's the bad news? we need new fuel pumps they need to be installed, along with seats, rear bumper, license plates, and a few other miscelanious items. Well we've been here before with dirt bikes, trying to get prepped for a dezert trip last minute. Let's try and do it, we'll miss the first day of the Targa, but if we pull it off, we get two days of blasting this beast up the Central coast.

The pics say the rest, priceless trip, with a great friend. thanks to Pelican for getting us the pumps and other last little bits, right when we needed them! Ohh, and thanks to the girlfriend for putting up with 3 years of postponed dates and blissful evening watching chicflicks

Cheers to Boost on Fridays!

Put the Targa on your list of things to do next year with your turbo or 911, you won't be sorry, pleanty of driving. Oh did I forget the cattle drive we got stuck behind, thank god for pressure washers, cause there is a ton of cow crap under the 930,
