I'm certainly no oil expert. Synthetic oils are great..might be a little too great for our older girls who have not had a recent rebuilt. If your engine has not been apart or since it's last rebuild you have been using regular oil, IMO I would stick to the regular. Synthetic oils along with its detergents may loosen some crud that conventional oils may not. This may cause unwanted coaking throughout certain areas of your engine. Synthetic oils extend oil intervals. Regular oils with zddp(gotta stay employed..jk..) are a great option for us. Zddp was first introduce in aviation. It has excellent metal to metal wear. So to summarize my opinion...if your engine is being rebuilt or has had a recent rebuilt, synthetic might be a good idea. The rest of us may want to stick with conventional oils.
