Yes, there is way, but you have to go to a braided line with AN fittings. I recently did this in the fall with my 78. I had to manage the stock unit from beneath intake and simply fed the braided steel line back in. I preferred this over removing the entire upper intake. It took me about an hour to cut the braided SS line, fit the AN fittings, and R&I the oil feed line.

I believe Chris at Turbokraft offers a kit for this. I cobbled mine together, but I'm not sure off all the fittings part numbers.
