Did you do this correctly? What 9dreizig suggested is not "pumping". Turn the key on, and push the metering plate down (via the adjustment screw) until you hear the pumps turn on, and hold it for no more than a second. That will flow fuel through the injectors and into the intake, creating a rich cold start condition.
