I test drove a couple of clean 800's (an 850 and 840). The automatic was a turn off for me. There are only a handful of 850CSI's out there (6 speed). Markjenn is very right about maintenance. This car has drive by wire, and the servos come in pairs at $1400.00. Replacing the servos multiple times is not a wonderful thing. The engines are pretty good though. The V12 is the same one used in the 750 so it reasonably common. The 840 has the same 4.4L that is in the 540i and others. It is rock solid. The OBC is the same pile of crap that all the early 90's cars have. They are prone to bust (at least they are easy to replace).

Passing is a good idea unless you really want to keep your hands full. I almost fell under the spell, but backed out when I remember my 69 Alpha GTV....
