The LSD info, or any other information about options, is not indicated in the VIN. Bruce Anderson's (RIP) book, The 911 Performance Handbook, is a really good resource for VIN decoding, and there is also a lot of info on VINs in the 911 forum.

There is no stamp on the gearbox for the limited slip option, however, there are two build stickers, which list options, that came with the car when new. One was stuck on the underside of the front trunk and the other was placed in the original owner's manual.

One way to know for certain if a car has a LSD is to raise the rear wheels off the ground and spin one of the wheels with your hand - if the other spins in the same direction it has a LSD (otherwise the other wheel will spin in the opposite direction).
