Not true unless you have a 964/993 dash. Based on your avatar picture you have an older car that does not have the metal tabs in the dash. If that is the case, then it is possible to remove/install the dash with the windshield in place.

I read the same thing from this board. When I went to restore my interior, I found out very quickly when I removed my dash that it wasn't necessary to remove my windshield at all. I would have saved a lot of time and money.
