Yes. It's time for them to earn their money. It's in their interest to act as your advocate. Remember, in most states if the other guy's insurance fails to come through, your insurance company is on the hook. A fortunate byproduct of this is that by protecting themselves (which is what they're most interested in doing) they'll be protecting you.

It bears repeating what others have already said; find the very best high-end shop you can find and insist on having your car repaired there - it's your right, after all.

If they want to total the car do not accept anything less than what you can reasonably justify is its true market value. Further, insist that your agent understand what your minimum requirements are ($$$ wise) and that no agreement is to be reached without your explicit prior knowledge and approval.
