Wow.. sorry to hear you don't have any insurance on the car during winter because you're not driving it.
I know it's too late now but most auto insurance companies will let you drop the collision and personal injury coverage while you're storing a car but keep the comprehensive coverage. Then you're still covered for fire and theft or a tree falling on it but you can't drive it legally.
I've checked and the rates are a lot lower then full coverage while just keeping the comprehensive coverage.
