Porsche Crest

That's a 73-74-75 tank with fittings close together and no threaded connections.....

Hard to keep up with the changes during that era. Model Year 74 was the real problem year as Porsche moved the pump to the rear and used a low pressure system with hose clamps & white nylon tube thru the tunnel.

This tube turned brown, hard & brittle w age. In fact so brittle that it would crack & split if disturbed. MY 75 saw the change to black Polyamid tube which is practically bullet proof. It is still used today by most manufacturers including Porsche.

The rear pump location caused a lot of vapor lock issues, remedied only when in MY 76 Porsche changed the system once again & moved the pump "back" up front, this time with clearance to allow room for the new flow-thru pump. The fittings were moved outboard to the corners.

Now most of the system became high-pressure once again, as it had been with the MFI models in the 69-73 era.
