Before going the 16inch wheel route, you should consider the 2 following options:
Toyo R888 in 215/50-15 and 235/50/15 (homologated for road use)
I am using them on 8&9fuchs wheel and they fit perfectly (the 235/50-15 has been designed for 9inch wide wheels)

You can also use avon CR6ZZ in 215/60-15 front and 225/60-15 rear
The latter size is a new addition to the CR6ZZ range (Avon also offers a 225/65-15 but is really too tall for a911) and goes very well on a 9inch wide wheel too

Both tires are really grippy and performance oriented

I got the strong vibrations that Michelin felt they would not do much for the handling, balance and stability on a rally 911, so another idea bites the dust.

Michelin’s recommendation is to go to 16” wheels and use 245/45 ZR16’s which they make in MXX3 with Porsche N2 homologation. Other makes are available as well, Bridgestone etc. The overall diameter is only 10mm greater at 635mm than my current 23/62 R15 TB15’s. Obviously I would have to get new wheels but Minilite no longer make 16” wheels.
