there is somthing called a delayed action relay. as far as i know one of its jobs is to keep the ignition ON after you turn the engine off to burn off fuel. that also controls the FP's. i dont know if the 78's have, i would think they do; but that is where i would look.
sorrry, dont know where it is. (i have pulled all the electronics out from under my seat and mine still does it, so i dont think it is there).
