Almost all 914s can run 195-width tires all around. They may rub on the inner front fender, aft of the shock tube, at full lock, but that is generally only done at low speeds and most of us see it as acceptable.

Many 914s, but not all, can run 205-width tires. Often the rear fender lip must be flattened or cut to allow this, but not always. Some 914s won't allow a 205 under one rear fender or the other without pulling the fender out. That's one of the challenges with owning a car that was at least partly hand-built. The same rubbing occurs in the front fenders as the 195s above.
