I must be lucky because I have removed mine many times and it has not broken yet. It is still a very nice steering Wheel and the grip is much thicker than a momo or personal I found. I really love mine. Be careful if you remove the horn ring (depending how thick the socket you use to install it is), because the screws are easily stripped. I had to tap mine for bigger screws for the horn ring.
