well things are looking better.
got the intake flanges all straight. thanks chris. i did that before but used water not oil and i did not do sand it nearly as much as i did this time. there is still just some small amounts of pitting and small amounts of JB wled left, so i know i have it very close.

fisxed another issue.
my idle would not always come back to the same place when i let off the gas. sometimes 1000, maybe 850, maybe 900. so i removed the idle screw and it was very dirty but the proble was the throttle plate could not close completely. the throttle switch adjustmnet was keeping from closing all the way. so i just pulled it off, dont need it. throttle body is all cleaned up and working as it should, it sure feels good when you actually find somehting not right and get it fixed.
