vacuum limiter confirmation reqd

Guys,

I have disabled the vacuum limiter to allow the revs to fall more rapidly.
I did it by disconnecting the hose from the throttle body to the vacuum limiter. This line is now blanked at the throttle body and at the end of the hose.

Is this an acceptable way of disabling the valve without removing it?
Will this have any affect on fuel control at high rpm?

Thanks

TIM
