You have to determine if you can go long neck vice short neck, which would be the "bolt on" arrangement. The long neck removes the shuttle valve which is a source of some of the turbo lag in a stock set up. I would bet that the rules you race in will not allow that, but if they do, that is a benefit beyond the greater cooling surface area of newer IC's.

RarlyL8 has a Bell unit that he advertises as "bolt on" that might do what you want.
