I would agree with Jim. That car needs about $25K in repairs or somewhat less if you do it yourself. If you do it yourself it will take tae a very long time unless you are retired. I just restored my 1976 930. I thought it was a three or four month project, it took me 18 months and three times the amount of money I had originally anticipated.

I hope you get the 930 and get a good deal. It sounds like the original owner really loves his car. In your negotiations I would have all the restoration challenges listed out their price your local shops will charge you to do it. I think the original owner will appreciate selling his car for a lower price if he knows the money will go to restoring his baby.
