Nope, if the wastegate is not working properly (after you have confirmed that the hoses are hooked up correctly and do not have holes/cracks in them etc.), you'll have to remove and dismantle it to see what the problem is. Once dismantled, you might find that it is non-rebuildable like I did (the top "bell" on mine was corroded about 1/2 way around on the ridge/lip that the large diaphragm seats in) - I then had to fork out the big bucks for a Tail.

BG4KK, might help clean-up some deposits in the fuel system, but will have no effect on the wastegate.
