It would be ALOT more work and expense. You'd have to change the pedal cluster to one that uses a clutch slave cylinder and run hydraulic lines too.

I've had BMW's with hydraulic clutches that use expensive ATE or FAG master and slave cylinders that are poorly made these days in who knows what country by the lowest bidder and don't last. They are complicated and high maintenance and will probably leave a nice big carpet soaking puddle of brake fluid on the driver side floor when the slave cylinder seals takes a dump after a little while.

I so much prefer the simplicity and low cost of an old school... mechanical clutch cable. They just work, the clutch pedal feel is great, and they last a long time.
