To be clear: you want thicker oil to stop leaks? Seems by that theory you wish to raise the cold oil weight? Where is the oil leaking from?

I used kendall 20w50 when I first got the 930 but found coked oil in my oil filter. No coke with rotella t6 5w40 (synthetic).

I used dino vr1 20w50 for last 2 years (recommended on this forum), got coking in turbo so will now be sticking with synthetic. I find the 20w50 oil doesn't like starting in the winter, engine is really sluggish for a few minutes until the oil warmed.

Last weekend I switched to mobile 1 0w40. $25 for 5 gallons at walmart. I'll use it at least for the winter. Leaks are actually down a little from the vr1 20w50 but that may be due to the new silicon valve covers.

Not sure what I'll use in the spring. I also want something inexpensive and good.
